Seven ventures from Walsh College’s Blackstone LaunchPad business initiative have been named Best of MichBusiness by the Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA).

Winners of Best of Hatched™ award included Steve Johnson of Motor City Brew Tours, Sylvia Ruma of Ruma Organics, offering personal care products along with tips for a healthy lifestyle and Jesse Ford of The Work, a television and video production company drawing on the latest and best digital technology. And even more kudos to Anthony Majewski who received an additional first place award “2015 Champion Small Business” for Read With Max, a children’s book, music and animation series designed to help children overcome emotional milestone moments;

Stellar Start-Up award winners were given to Armando Doku of Avaneer Dental Studio, and Leanna Haun of Picasso’s Grapevine, an instructional and entertaining group painting studio and art gallery.

Denise Kulak, owner of other FUN STUFF! was designated by MBPA as a One Person Wonder – chief cook, bottle washer, work-life balancer and difference maker.
